Center Director

Clara Prats joined the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences in 2002 as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Copenhagen Muscle Research Center. Since then, she has shaped her professional profile in the interface between Metabolic Research, Advanced Microscopy Technologies, and Core Facility Leadership and Management.

Appointed Associate Professor in 2010, her research at the Department of Biomedical Sciences has led to novel knowledge in basic metabolic regulation, in both health and disease. At the same time, she led the construction, implementation and operation of the Light Microscopy and Image Analysis services at the Core Facility for Integrated Microscopy. Her double affiliation created a bridge between research and core facility operation, bridging the technology platform to the life scientists’ needs, driving the development and testing of methodologies, and fund raising to support continuous development of the offered service portfolio. She played a key role in the creation of a National BioImaging Network (DBI), facilitated the Danish membership to the ERIC Euro-BioImaging (EuBI), and has acted as Director of the Danish BioImaging Infrastructure since 2021.

Head of Administration

Anne Line Mikkelsen joined the University of Copenhagen in 2023 as Head of Administration at the Department of Experimental Medicine. She holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and has over 15 years of experience from Technical University of Denmark (DTU), where she worked extensively with research infrastructure, university administration, organizational development, strategic agendas, and research policy at the Danish and European levels.
